Happy December! Let’s start with my “Cause I’m just a girl“ Christmas Wish List! Since I heard about the creative cooperation between Urban Decay and Gwen Stefani I was as excited as I was 20 Years ago when I was writing my letter to Santa Claus, hoping that my parents will find it!
Favourite make up brand + my favourite Gwen Stefani since 2 decades + Favourite beauty category … I was anxious for Urban Decay’s announcement about launching their limited edition eyeshadow pallete on the 22nd of November in the USA and almost 2 weeks later (on 1st of December) in Europe. I used to order UD products online, as they hadn’t been offered in Germany and Austria until 2014 and lucky me – since last year Douglas shops made the wise decision to be the first (not online) shop to extend their product line (with my favourite brand) in Germany and Austria. Ordering online has been always an adventure of comparing costs, taxes and shipping time, that’s why – thank you, “Douglas” team for saving my time!
So, as crazy as I am, I went to the most insane on the 1st of December at 06:45 A.M. on my way to work I ordered the Urban Decay UD Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette by Douglas.at online shop. And it took only a day till I had this wonderful, wonderful product in my hands
So, let’s talk about the new Urban Decay UD Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette a bit more:
The palette itself is a piece of art – every detail from the case to the amazing shades is unique. Gwen Stefani put the colours together by combining the shades she always wished she had in her collection. The case of the palette melts my heart each time I look at it – black, white and golden graphic prints – masterpiece on its own!
It is a dreamy collection of neutrals, 13 everyday colours and 2 more freaky ones to experiment with (according to Urban Decay website 12 shades are NEW, and three are from the UD shadow collection). The fun part is the names of the shades, which were inspired by Gwen Stefani’s songs that I love! There’s even a place for the No Doubt song “Magic’s in the Makeup” on the palette’s huge mirror.
This set with wonderful lip stick colours from Gwen Stefani’s collection is a nice present from Urban Decay!
Can’t wait to try those gorgeus colours!
According to www.Urbandecay.com :
“Each Eyeshadow in this palette features UD’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich colour, serious staying power and blendability.”
Blonde (pale beige with pink undertones) – basic colour for highlighting under the eyebrows.
Bathwater (light beige with gold pearl) – good transition colour (also one of my favourites songs of No Doubt).
Skimp (pale nude, satin colour) – good basic colour for all over the eyelid.
Steady (light to medium rose with metallic gold undertones) – you could wear it alone, also very nice with Browns.
Punk (brown, matte) – a must have basic colour.
Baby (cool metallic rose) – very nice basic colour.
Anaheim (light taupe-brown matte) – it doesn’t swatch well on my skin, anyhow this colour is a brilliant for all over the eyelid for lazy days.
Stark (matte nude-pink) – perfect brown for blending.
Zone (medium brown matte) – good as blending or main colour.
Serious (smoky grey with changeable blurred pearl) – it’s perfect even on its own.
Pop (light coral with iridescent sparkles) – may be the only one colour from this palette that I do not like! It is very chalky and difficult to apply!
Harajuku (metallic pink with iridescent micro-shimmer) – looks much better than I was expecting! Everyday pink colour looks beautiful with silvers and golds.
Danger (deep metallic royal blue with blue micro-sparkle) – gorgeous! This colour looks amazing! Even though, I am not sure I would be brave enough to wear this blue shade!
1987 (bright metallic gold) – my year of birth and absolute favourite shade in this palette, applies like butter!
Blackout (black matte colour) – must have matt black.
I love this palette! The Packaging, the case, and of course I love the colours! As I use neutrals for my everyday make up I’ll have the opportunity to experiment with the shades everyday as I want! There is only one Crazy colour (Danger), and I think to make a festive look (New Year look) with it!
“I’m just a girl” and I’m a happy one!
Enjoy your day!
