Attention – the following scenes contain some Psychedelic art and are not suitable for colour-intolerance persons. Welcome to Hippie district Haight- Ashbury the epicentre of the hippie movement in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century.

The neighbourhood Haight-Ashbury is so colourful and unique that I was supposed to make some photos every other second. The street art, incredible architecture, Psychodelic shops, etc. are definitely a must see in San Francisco! Do not forget the numerous music shops! They offer a mega huge selection of musical instruments, music plates, posters (etc. etc. …) of the most famous musicians and groups from the summer of ’69 – Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Joe Cocker, Santana and many others.

Probably the Most Beautiful Garden I’ve Ever Seen ~ San Francisco

The events, or the so-called in the 60s of the 20th century “Happenings”, which took place in the Haight-Ashbury district, gave birth to the Hippie movement and the most iconic festival of all time – Woodstock. The feeling, while walking on the streets, is very special and some kind of magical … The photos reveal much more than my words …

After spending a few hours in Haight-Ashbury, we had a walk to some of the most famous houses in the city, called Painted Ladies, which are located at Alamo Square. Two of them were even on sale for only 3.5 million dollars each. I refused to buy one of them because there was no bus stop in this area, and this used to be my number one requirement in the last years 😀 …

Drive Through ~ San Francisco

So our days spent in San Francisco came to the end … A little sad, but definitely happier that I had the opportunity to meet this colourful and unique city! … And we took the highway towards Nevada …

Enjoy the day!
