Hello! Today’s product is a lovely cleansing balm, which is probably better than 99 % than all other make up cleansers, balms and micellar waters out there – my lovely “Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm” from Clinique. It is my Holy Grail product, that successfully removes even the “They’re Real” Mascara from Benefit or waterproof makeup. It is schmaltzy and absolutely melts my makeup in seconds and you don’t have to go over and over and over again in order to get your eyes/face completely clean.
About the product:
It is a balm, as the name says and the texture is similar to coconut oil I think. The formula is really light and creamy. The balm turns into oil after applying it onto my face and gets pretty liquid.
How I use it:
There are two ways in how I use this cleansing balm:
As a first step of my evening routine – I use it with my fingers, grab a bit of it and massage it overall my dry skin till everything melts into a dirty oily consistency. Then, I rinse everything well with warm water. And that’s it! My face is ready for some moisturizer.
And the second way of using it, which I prefer, is as my last step of taking off my makeup. After using my micellar water and washing my face, I take a cotton pad, take a little bit from the balm and go over my eyelid to completely clean the makeup rest. I prefer this step, as I don’t want to use so much product all over my face and I do prefer washing my face with facial soap.
It doesn’t dry my skin and even moisturize it
Takes my make up (even waterproof one) completely off
It doesn’t leave my skin oily
My skin doesn’t break out
I love the texture
It’s a bit pricy, but it lasts for very long time.
The packaging is not the most hygienic one.
The packaging is not absolutely travel-friendly.
Overall this product is awesome! You get enough product for the price, is great for my skin, no irritations or break-outs, it removes perfectly my makeup and feels absolutely luxurious. I would and will buy this again!
Enjoy the day!
