Hello! Today I would like to share with you my impressions from my last visit to Bobbi Brown, where I had the opportunity to enjoy an hour of indulgence and my hope to learn something new from a professional make-up artist. Stay with me! In the following lines I will be, as always, a bit critical, as the topic of discussion is something I have very high expectations to, and I would say – a good knowledge.
My previous visit to “professional makeup artist” (in quotes because it was anything else, but not professional …) was in Douglas.
I was so disappointed with the results, that I was looking forward to go home as quickly as I can in order to remove my makeup and clean up my face. Regarding Douglas perfumeries and their makeup artists I’ve already made some bad experiences. This time was different, because I had an appointment (unfortunately not in Douglas) with professional makeup artist by Bobbi Brown in another perfumery in Innsbruck. The entire procedure is conducted as a Bobbi Brown’s make-up lesson, which lasts about 60 minutes for the regular price of 60.00 €. The price seemed to be quite high, but I had the opportunity to visit this lesson with VIP Voucher.
I made my appointment in November for the 9th January, as they were absolutely booked up during the holidays. In the following pictures you will see my “transformation” from “no makeup face” to full face makeup look. Enjoy!
We started with applying some face moisturizer and foundation in order to even up my skin tone. Afterwards the makeup artist applied concealer, bronzer, blush and powder – which totally surprised me, because for me this is the last step of applying makeup, especially when I make a smoky look, because as often happens, there is some makeup fall out that can ruin the whole look …
The application of my eye makeup has been done in a standard way – at the very beginning she applied a beige, skin coloured eye makeup base, than some light cream colour in the inner corner of the eye, some dark brown matt colour in the outther corner, a lighter brown matte eye shadow as a blending crease colour, and a bronze colour in the middle of my eyelid. To complete the makeup look she applied black eyeliner, some dark brown kajal pencil under my lower eyelid, a cream matt colour under the eyebrows and of course – black mascara for the lashes. For the eyebrows, the makeup artist chose an deep brown eyebrow pencil, which, however, was a bit too dark for me.
- I was happy with the result; overall the colour range was my standard one.
- The makeup artist was very nice and it she was paying attention to my desires and preferences (with small exceptions).
- This Makeup look was long wearable.
- Unfortunately, I didn’t learn something new, nor I was surprised by any different techniques of makeup application. Furthermore, I cannot define this appointment as makeup lesson.
- I think that the price of 60.00 € is too high for what I got in return and I’m definitely happy that I was able to use my VIP Voucher.
