Talking about seasons and weather is not really my speciality. To be quite frank, I do often talk about the weather when I don’t really have a common topic and interest to share with people. The weather is something that everyone is concerned with. Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who “enjoys” seasonal affective mood “disorder”. Summarized this means “the sun is shining, everything is fine” or “it is cold and dark outside, let’s go into mood hibernation mode”. Yes, not cool.
Since I’m living in Tirol much has changed when it comes to my relationship with the seasons. I spent 19 years in Sofia, where the spring and summer used to be my favourite seasons! Autumn was so-so, because of the school beginning. And Winter …. O’h, winter! I hate the winter in Sofia! People are depressed. Outside is foggy, windy, slippery or muddy, and veeeery cold! Sorry, Sofia, but I’m not missing your winter time. At all! So if you had asked me 10 years ago which my favourite season is, I would have answered “spring and summer” for sure.
But Innsbruck has definitely some different weather and seasons. The spring is often cold and rainy. The summer months are June and July and they are not always, but mostly very hot and sunny. Unfortunately, August is everything, but not what I have in mind, when I think about August – this means cool and rainy. But then, the autumn comes with the best late summer-weather and the most beautiful earth colours you can imagine! So I became an autumn-junkie! And just to be mentioned, the winter in Innsbruck is absolutely sunny and has nothing to do with the foggy-windy weather in Sofia. But, anyway I could skip it easily and go for an Asia trip instead.
Back to the best season in Tirol – autumn! This year we were really lucky! It was often 25° and the weather remained sunny almost throughout the entire September and October. Besides the weather, I had some extra favourites which I’ll share with you today:
Favourite Activity: Hiking!
Autumn has some perfect hiking weather! Hiking is even better than during the summer months, as the temperature remains up to 25° – not too cold or too warm. During the past few weeks, I was trying to catch as many sun rays as I can … Before the long never-ending winter comes and stays for the next 5 months 😀
Bye, bye Work! Welcome, New Challenges!
I have had it up to here with the dry topic of Finances, so I quit my job in August. Currently, I’m heading back to my original field of working interest in the area of Marketing. So I decided to apply for Educational Leave in order to (hopefully) become a Digital Marketing expert “in a little while”. And of course to work on my Blog … and travel more 🙂 And damn, I’m feeling good! (PS: And I don’t have to talk about the weather every single day with my colleges :D)
I was trying to avoid Spotify during the last couple of years, but … as it often happens I tried it once at the beginning of 2017 and now I do even have a special family account. It just happens. I just love browsing through different music styles, podcasts and educational channels. “Recommended for you” from Spotify is a great option to find some new stuff. Just lovely! My Spotify user is #t.k.lyubenova – you can follow me for musical inspiration.
When I’m saying that I’m not watching TV, I’m not meaning YouTube, Netflix, and some other Internet TV Channels. I don’t appreciate the standard TV and its bullsh*t content, except NatGio, Animal Planet and some other documentary TV channels. As an extra bonus, the German TV is absolutely boring! With boring, I do really mean BORING! And they do have some reeeeeaaally long TV commercials, so you can literally forget about what are you actually watching…
My solution: YouTube and Netflix! No commercials and of course I can follow whatever I want to! My recently NetFlix favourites are “Given”, “The Royal House of Windsor”, “Planet Earth: The Complete Collection”, “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey”, and “The Big Bang Theory”.
Drink: Ginger Tea
Yes, my favourite “Unexpectedly Good Combination”! How to make the best homemade Ginger Tea:
1 Prepare the fresh ginger by washing and peeling it. My tip: use plenty of ginger, more than you think you will need!
2 Using a garlic press is the best way to squeeze the Ginger into the boiling water. You can cut it too, but I found that squeezing it is better.
3 Boil the ginger in water for at least 10 minutes.
4 Remove from heat and add honey and cinnamon.
That’s it! The perfect autumn recipe 🙂
Podcast: „Happy, holy & confident”
Thanks to Spotify, I found some really good mindset and lifestyle podcasts. My very favourite one is the podcast „Happy, holy & confident” by Laura Sailer (sorry, only in German). Laura is definitely a good mindset coach and motivator, I love her voice. I love her positiveness and openness.
The second podcast is by Ivan Blatter, a Swiss business consultant which talks about Time management (again, only in German). Ivan helped me a lot with organizing my time in order to have more free-time! And to be honest – who is better than the Swiss people, when it comes to organizing and timeliness?
Book: “Conversations with God”, Neale Donald
Just to be mentioned: I’m not religious. But spirituality is something different. You have to feel it. You have to work on it.
The first time I heart about this book was maybe 2 years ago. It was recommended by several mindsets and self-development coaches, but I was kind of sceptical and disappointed by the title (don’t judge me). But I “met” the book over and over again. Then I decided to order all three books on Amazon and try to read something different that I would normally do.
This book is WOW. Very difficult to read. I’m re-reading some sentences over and over again, in order to get the deeper meaning out of the words. And hell yeah! There are some really deep thoughts on the meaning of life and being. I love this book!
One of my favourite quotes, Book I:
“The deepest secret is that life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself a new. Seek therefore, not to find out Who You Are, but seek to determine Who You Want to Be.” Neale Donald Walsch
My Outdoor Office
This was my office in October! I’m attending several online courses and I’m having some online projects going on. And the word “online” means “work from anywhere”. To be honest, there is nothing better than the fresh air when I have to write something and be creative. I think I was much more concentrated when working outside, at least with the projects I’m running right now. It depends on the topic, of course … but this time it was the bullseye!
Event: “6 Years World Trip – the Best Gap in My CV!”
More travel stories, please! Nick Martin has a lot of them! Nick is a traveller who is travelling the World for 10 years. Altogether he was 6 years on the road, met all kind of cultures and people, collected endless memories and stories, and talked about some of them during his presentation. This event was absolutely inspiring to me. After 4 hours of great travel stories, I started with planning my next trip and dreaming about my “One-Way Ticket to the World!”.
My Favourite Jewellery: VW Bus LillaGreen
This was my “from me to me” birthday present this year! I always wanted to have a VW Hippie Bus and as I saw this one with the colours of LillaGreen I totally freaked our 😀 The LillaGreen VW bus is with over 33.000 km of mileage already and I hope it will travel the World with me during the next 30 years (at least)!
My New Favourite Glass Bottle “Equa”
In line with the motto “be healthier”, I’m following the next trend out there – “Forget Plastic and Let’s Go Back To Using Glass”. Almost all drinks come in single-use bottles and the majority of them do not end up in recycling bins. That’s not cool! Of course, you can use plastic bottles over and over again, but they can release potentially harmful chemicals into your water. Furthermore, glass is much cleaner as plastic! Refilling your plastic bottles could expose you to potentially harmful bacteria. And of course – plastic is bad for our environment! Plastic pollutes every corner of Earth. You don’t want to support this process, right?
My Favourite Ethno Sneaker
Oldie, but goldie! I bought these ethnic-sneakers from S.Oliver 5 years ago and forgot about them after wearing them several times. Their time has come again, as I found them during the latest home decluttering and I love them! They have all autumn colours one could wish for. And they are really comfy!
My Favourite Trip
My Bali trip in September! Many stories are coming soon!
Now I’m really curious about your autumn favourites! You can share them in the comment section <3
Enjoy the day and the rest of the autumn!
